Nova Jóia + Spa Criativo

O workshop da Ela Bauer organizado por Mirla Fernandes+Renata Porto aconteceu nestes últimos 4 dias (15-18 de outubro).
O grupo de participantes estava muito aberto às experiências e os resultados foram dias de muita produção, envolvimento e transformação.

O que os materiais dizem sobre identidade e como se apropriar deles!
Será um workshop em que o foco recairá sobre as propriedades e historias dos materiais. Nós traremos materiais de nossos países e contaremos as historias que existem por trás deles, de onde vem, seus significados, em que circunstancias foram usados.
Descobriremos como um material estrangeiro se torna seu. Será que ele ganha um jeito latino-americano ao ser usado aqui, mesmo que venha da Europa? Qual a diferença de uma expressividade européia e latino-americana em relação ao material? Há uma identidade do material e o que ele nos conta sobre sua origem? Quando é usado ele tem uma história própria?
Cada participante receberá um saco com 4 peças da Suécia e 4 da Alemanha.
Para começar, todos tem que escolher 2 materiais e fazer 2 peças de joalheria com eles.
Na segunda parte usaremos 2 materiais que vocês trouxeram e faremos duas jóias a partir deles.
Na ultima parte, misturaremos os materiais europeus e brasileiros para formar uma única peça.
Nesse processo você poderá adicionar coisas como cola, fios, agulhas, adesivos, etc, todo tipo de material para conectar as peças e as conectar ao corpo.

What material tells about identity and how to make it your own!
It will be a workshop in which the focal point lies on the properties and stories of material. We will bring material from our countries and tell about the background of these pieces, where they are from, what kind of meaning they have, in which surrounding they are used before.
We will find out, how to make `foreign´ material your own? Does it get a South-American expression when used there, even if it comes from Europe? What is the difference in expression of European and South-American material? Is there at all an identity of material and what does it tells about its origin? When it is `used material´, does it has an own story?
Try to find out the story of the material and give expression to it!
Each participant will get a bag with 4 pieces from Sweden and 4 pieces from Germany.
To start with, everybody has to chose two materials and make two pieces of jewellery out of it.
The second part will be that we are going to chose two materials you brought and make two jewels out of it.
Within the last part it is the meaning to mix the European and Brazilian pieces and bring them together in one piece.
Within this process you can add other thinks like glue, wire, thread, needle nail, tape etc. all material you need to connect the pieces together and connect them to the body.
It would be fine if you can bring this kind of stuff together with some basic tools.
